40 Years of Chaos · EP.21 — The Call: Reunion 2013

In 2012, after a mission with Médecins Sans Frontières in Africa, Andrea Mastromarco came home with one fixed idea: get AydrA going again. Five years of complete silence had passed since the band last played. Mastro picked up the phone. On the other end Mauro — by now a father, years away from the stage — said yes. That call broke through the wall of the Void, and a new job began: putting the band back together, rediscovering the sounds, reconnecting the threads.

The line-up that took shape was the first structural change of AydrA's second life. Two new guitarists came in: Luca Calò, who helped reopen the band's sound after the silence and would stay through the sessions leading to Leave to Nowhere, and Giuseppe "Peppe" Cardamone, on guitar and backing vocals — a stable pillar of the second life, from the first reunion dates all the way to 2024 and beyond.

On drums came Marco Bianchella, bringing his experience with Gunfire and, above all, his studio: WR / White Rock Studios, the space that would become AydrA's recording headquarters for years to come, right up to the come-back album. The local press picked up the story. In 2013, after five years of nothing, AydrA existed again.
