40 Years of Chaos · EP.31 — The Split with Gory Blister

Ten days after the album, on 20 October 2024, came something that never reached a shop shelf. The AydrA / Gory Blister split CD was not a classic release but a targeted editorial and promotional operation: a physical CD distributed as an exclusive bonus with the pre-orders of Unholy 4, the fourth volume of the Italian metal fanzine, and handed out as a promotional item at joint live dates such as The Night of Living Death.

A three-way collaboration between two bands and a printed zine, built to push underground press and new releases together — exactly the kind of circuit AydrA grew up in.

The AydrA side carries Three Minutes Walk, Forever Hide and Deserter from Leave to Nowhere, plus Icon of Sin, the title track of the 1999 cult album, on Rude Awakening Records. The Gory Blister side carries Relentless Fear, Profound Sedation and Asteroid from Reborn from Hatred, plus No Shadow live at Firenze Metal 2024, on Eclipse Records.

Two Italian bands with long histories, both back in full force in the same season — Reborn from Hatred in 2023, Leave to Nowhere in 2024. The split is the celebration of that double rebirth, and of a synergy that only makes sense inside the underground.
