Inside the Insane Man was one of the first pieces written for Hyperlogical Non-Sense, the record where Meshuggah and Gorguts pushed AydrA towards irregular meter, dissonance and cerebral writing.

The drummer who recorded it, Nicola Raffaeli, had been behind the kit since 1995 — on the demos, on Psycho Pain Control, on Icon of Sin. He left the band in 2004, the same year the album came out.

Marco Bianchella joined for the 2013 reunion. Those parts were not his, and he had to earn every one of them.
